Introduction: An inventor and entreprenuer, Dean Kamen (Kamen), always used the laws of science to come out with innovative products for the benefit of the society. His portfolio of patents ranged from helicopter designs to heating and cooling machines. His much-publicised invention of 21st centurywas the ‘SegwayHumanTransporter’3 or HT (also known as Ginger), which was borne out of his previously best-known invention, the iBot.4 His latest invention was the low-cost, low power, water purifier (nicknamed Slingshot), which was designed for the thirdworld countries. Itwas introduced in 2003.Withmore than a billion people5worldwide, according to the WHO, having no access to safe drinking water, the new invention had a humanitarian potential. Timemagazine recorded theSlingshot in the list of its coolest inventions in 2003.While speaking about his inventions, Kamen said, “I don’t work on a project unless I believe that itwill dramatically improve life for a bunch of people.”6 Kamen’s life brimswith scientific achievements and inventions.His interest in electrical-electronic gadgets developed, even before he entered college.Ayear before he passed out from high school, Kamen came up with an audiovisual control system, which earned him $60000
